Emmée Parizot

Sculpteur
The expressiveness of sculpture enables the artist, by shaping bodies and faces, to transcribe the intimacy of our inner energies into matter. Through her highly carnal work, she plays with form and light until her subject becomes emotion, tension and passion.
With her new neo-classical series, Emmée Parizot revisits archaeology and mythology with humor, lightness, strength and modernity, reaffirming her fascination with classical art. In a nod to childhood, her sculptures seem to have emerged from a poetic, enchanting game of cut-outs.
This link to childhood, and the juxtaposition of references to the past and the present, give his work a universal, timeless dimension that reaches into our imagination.
