My friend Valérie Solvit invited me into her home to discover a little treasure she’d kept secret until then: a series of portraits of Marcel Proust, paying homage to his world.
I was immediately won over. The sensitivity and knowledge of the Proustian world were present in each of these delightful drawings. Marcel Proust was a distant member of the de Wiaz family, and everyone continued to call him Uncle Marcel. The amusement of this anecdote led to the title of the exhibition: Oncle Marcel, affaire de famille. The family of the blood opened up to the great family of the heart.
